Kerry Opens First PA Coffee Plant, Boosting Local Economy
Kerry, a global leader in taste and nutrition, is opening its first Pennsylvania manufacturing plant in Hanover Township, Northampton County. The new facility, set to drive business growth and innovation in the coffee industry, is supported by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with a $516,880 investment.
The plant aims to meet the rising demand for all-natural coffee ingredients across multiple markets. It will support refrigerated transport of temperature-sensitive coffee ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality. Kerry's commitment to sustainability and local community development in Bethlehem is evident in this project.
The project is backed by a $316,880 Pennsylvania First grant and a $200,000 WEDnetPA grant for workforce training. Kerry is leasing a building previously occupied by Martin Bauer Group and will retain 16 of their employees. The building was previously owned by Renault before its use by the Kerry Group and later by the Martin Bauer Group.
Kerry's expansion in Pennsylvania is expected to bring new job opportunities and stimulate local economic growth. The company is encouraged to pursue the Manufacturing Tax Credit Program for additional tax benefits, further sweetening the deal for both Kerry and the local community.
