Trint, an AI-driven SaaS platform, is transforming the content creation landscape with its innovative mobile app. The service offers live transcription, verification, sharing, and translation of key quotes seconds after they are spoken, providing a game-changing tool for journalists and content creators alike.

At the helm of Trint is Jeff Kofman, a seasoned professional with a 30-year career at ABC, CBS, and CBC News. Kofman, now the Founder and CEO of Trint, also hosts a podcast called StoryTech, where he explores the impact of technology and innovation on storytelling.

Trint's transcription service is the result of experiments with audio and text conducted by software developers in 2013. The platform's engineers and data scientists utilise various machine learning algorithms, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and speech processing algorithms, to improve the service's accuracy and efficiency.

The core of Trint's AI-powered transcription engine relies on advanced machine learning components. These include transformer neural networks with self-attention, recurrent layers such as LSTMs or GRUs for temporal feature capturing, pretrained representations like wav2vec 2.0 and Whisper-like models, and advanced noise reduction and speaker diarization algorithms.

Trint's rich transcription service provides more context to content, making it more searchable and allowing journalists to find the moments that matter quickly. Beyond transcription, Trint offers tools like Story Builder, a feature that helps find key moments in content and turn them into a new narrative.

Trint supports approximately 45 languages for transcription, with some in beta and others more mature, depending on the size of the training data sets. The platform ensures secure transmission of content, even with patchy connections.

In the future, Trint aims to leverage AI to identify voices, faces, sentiment, context, facts, and falsehoods in any language. The Story Builder can export content to other key tools in the content production workflow, such as video editing, podcast transcripts, or articles.

Jeff Kofman founded Trint in 2014 after experiencing the bottleneck of manual transcription in his workflow as a TV reporter. Despite initial challenges in explaining the need for transcripts to investors due to a lack of understanding about the workflow of reporters and content creators, Trint has since grown to become a valuable asset in the content creation industry.
