iPhone SE's Anticipated Release Looming Immediately
The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Apple is reportedly set to unveil its latest smartphone offering, the 2020 iPhone SE. According to reliable sources like 9To5Mac, the launch of this device is imminent.
The 2020 iPhone SE is expected to retain the home button for Touch ID and feature a smaller overall form factor, reminiscent of the iPhone 6 design. It will be available in three vibrant colours: White, Black, and PRODUCT (Red).
Under the hood, the 2020 iPhone SE is expected to run on the powerful A13 Bionic chip, which was present on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. This chip promises smooth performance and efficient operation.
The storage variants of the iPhone SE match those of the iPhone 8, offering 64GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB options. Notably, the 256 GB variant of the iPhone 8 was discontinued last year.
The 2020 iPhone SE is primarily aimed at older iPhone users who prefer budget-friendly hardware. It's worth mentioning that Apple is also reportedly working on a successor to the 2016 iPhone SE, and while the name is yet to be officially confirmed, it's rumoured to be either iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9, with Apple intervening to suggest the name will be iPhone SE.
There is, however, some uncertainty about the exact launch date of the 2020 iPhone SE due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Previously, it was expected that the device would launch in March, but the presumed release date was later moved to April 15, 2020. However, Apple has not officially announced the new date yet.
One feature that won't be making a return in the 2020 iPhone SE is 3D touch, a feature that was present in iPhones until Apple started phasing it out with the iPhone 11 series.
