Introducing North America's Premier Shared Electric Bicycle for Goods Transportation: Veo

Veo, a leading provider of micromobility solutions, has made a significant stride in the transportation industry with the launch of North America's first dockless shared cargo ebike, the Apollo Cargo. This innovative ebike is designed to cater to the growing demand for cargo capacity among riders.

The Apollo Cargo, Veo's seventh vehicle type, is set to hit the streets of Washington, D.C. and Columbus, OH this summer. Equipped with throttle assist, front and rear baskets, pannier compatibility, and a weight limit of up to 100 pounds, this ebike is a game-changer for those seeking a practical, yet eco-friendly mode of transport.

But Veo isn't stopping there. They are planning to develop a self-balancing cargo trike, co-designed with members of the disability community, to further expand their offerings. This commitment to inclusivity and innovation is a testament to Veo's dedication to making micromobility solutions accessible to all.

The Apollo Cargo is not just a vehicle; it's a smart one. It features a light-up interface that displays battery level, speed modes, and ride information. Moreover, it comes with an integrated phone holder, Bluetooth speaker, and access to Veo's own Veo Voice: Advanced IoT system. This system offers precise geofencing and on-board speakers to provide real-time verbal guidance about local riding regulations.

The demand for micromobility solutions in the United States is growing, with more people considering it as a viable alternative to car ownership. According to a recent McKinsey survey, nearly one-third of respondents plan to use micromobility more frequently. This shift is driven by the fact that more than half of daily trips in the U.S. are under three miles, making cargo ebikes like the Apollo Cargo a suitable solution for carrying more than just oneself.

Veo's survey findings suggest a demand for micromobility solutions that can carry groceries and other items. In fact, nearly half of the respondents are reconsidering their car ownership entirely. This trend is further underscored by the fact that 40% of respondents do not own or have access to a car of their own.

Recognising this need, Veo is committing to making 50% of their fleet cargo-capable by 2030. And, 58% of riders would use micromobility more often if they had access to a cargo-capable vehicle. This indicates a clear need for more micromobility options that cater to those without personal vehicle access.

As the first city in the United States to introduce the dockless shared cargo ebike "Apollo Cargo" by Veo this summer remains unspecified, one thing is certain: Veo is leading the charge in redefining urban mobility. With the Apollo Cargo, they are offering a practical, eco-friendly, and inclusive solution to the growing demand for micromobility.
