In the world of automotive manufacturing, human-like robots have found a warm welcome, with key players like Dongfeng and Ubtech Technology striking partnerships. Their bot, Walker S, is designed to perform quality checks on seat belts, door locks, and welding processes. Equipped to handle filling engine oil, applying labels, and electronics, Walker S showcases the versatility of humanoid robotics.

Previously, humanoids made headlines when news broke of their presence on the assembly line at a Mercedes-Benz plant in Berlin. This growing trend reflects the tech-driven direction the automotive sector is headed in, with companies like Tesla, BYD, Xiaomi, and XPeng driving humanoid robot advancements.

Humanoid robots, like Tesla's Optimus and BYD's robots, are being developed for increased factory floor efficiency. Chinese automakers, including GAC and XPeng, are making waves in this field. For instance, GAC showcased the "GoMate" robot, designed for both automotive production and non-auto applications like security and elderly care.

As we approach 2025, the mass production of humanoid robots is on the horizon, with predictions suggesting up to 1.6 million such robots will be working in the automotive industry by 2035. Integration of technology from smart cars is fueling the evolution of humanoid robots, shaping more sophisticated factory workers.
