India's Two-Wheeler Sales Surge in September 2025, Led by EVs
In September 2025, the two-wheeler industry experienced a significant boost, with notable increases in sales across India. The 2025 calendar year saw a remarkable 17% surge in scooter sales, reaching 218,928 units, while motorcycle sales grew by 9% to 249,621 units. Meanwhile, TVS Motor Company reported its highest-ever quarterly sales of 15.07 Lakh units in Q2FY26.
The two-wheeler market witnessed an overall growth of 11% in September 2025, with total sales amounting to 523,923 units. This includes a remarkable 60% increase in three-wheeler sales, reaching 17,141 units in the same month. Quarterly sales for three-wheelers also grew significantly, up 41% to 0.53 Lakh units in Q2FY26.
EV sales contributed to this growth, increasing by 8% to 31,266 units in September 2025. Two-wheeler sales in Q2FY26 also saw a substantial rise, up 22% to 14.54 Lakh units. Exports grew by 30% to 4.00 Lakh units in the same quarter.
September 2025 marked a strong performance in the two-wheeler industry, with growth across various segments. The increased demand for EVs and the impressive sales figures from TVS Motor Company indicate a positive trend in the market. The total monthly sales growth of 12% to 541,064 units further underscores this positive trajectory.
