Speaking about the collaboration, Johannes Gregor, CEO of HEAGmobilo, stated that the partnership with the fire department is close and trusting, having worked together for years in tram-related emergencies. The head of the Darmstadt Fire Department, Johann-Georg Braxenthaler, also expressed his gratitude, stating that the new container provides excellent technical facilities for tram incident responses.
The container will aid in rescuing people trapped beneath trams or vehicles derailed by trams, serving as a mobile command or equipment centre at the site of incidents on tram lines. Braxenthaler also mentioned that the container could support fire departments in rural communities with tram connections in the future.
