IBM & AWS Strengthen Partnership for Secure Cloud Adoption in Middle East
IBM and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have strengthened their partnership to speed up secure cloud adoption and digital transformation across the Middle East. The expanded collaboration aims to assist clients in managing migrations and optimising hybrid architectures throughout their digital transformation journey.
The partnership will see IBM introduce tools for sustainability reporting and product lifecycle tracking, helping clients meet net-zero objectives within their IT infrastructure modernisation strategies. It also includes sustainability initiatives supporting regional mandates like the Saudi Green Initiative and the UAE's sustainability framework.
A key aspect of the partnership is the planned IBM-AWS Innovation Hub in Riyadh. This hub will offer enterprises and public sector bodies access to proof-of-concept capabilities, advanced cloud tools, and industry solutions such as IBM's watsonx.
IBM Consulting's managed service Autonomous Security for Cloud (ASC) will be deployed to automate security policy enforcement on AWS, supporting compliance with regional standards. IBM is also planning to increase its AWS Practice footprint in the Middle East, including building technical skills and expanding delivery teams in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
AWS will contribute to the localisation of IBM-led solutions on its platform, with offerings including Autonomous Security Compliance, Contact Center Intelligence, and AI-based citizen engagement tools.
The IBM-AWS partnership expansion in the Middle East combines IBM Consulting's expertise in AI, hybrid cloud, and sector-specific solutions with AWS' cloud infrastructure. This collaboration aims to support organisations in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and neighbouring markets in their secure cloud transformations and digital transformation initiatives.
