HYVIA's Hydrogen LCVs to Revolutionize European Market
HYVIA, a joint venture between Renault Group and Plug Power, is making waves in the zero-emission vehicle sector. Based in France, HYVIA offers a range of hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and is set to launch the Renault Master Van H2-TECH in Europe by mid-2022.
HYVIA's headquarters, engineering, and R&D center are located in Villiers-Saint-Frédéric, with Renault Master production in Batilly. Power Vehicle Innovation (PVI), a Renault Group subsidiary specializing in electric vehicle development and hydrogen technologies, provides electrical and hydrogen integration at Gretz-Armainvilliers. PVI's expertise in electric drive systems and hydrogen technologies supports HYVIA's integration of these systems into its vehicles.
HYVIA's LCVs offer an extended range of up to 500 km and a quick refueling time of just 5 minutes. The Renault Master Van H2-TECH, a large goods transporter, will hit European roads soon. It boasts a 12 m³ loading volume, a range of up to 500 km, and is powered by a 30 kW fuel cell, a 33 kWh battery, and 6 kg of hydrogen. The HYVIA range also includes a van version, a chassis-cab version, and a minibus.
HYVIA's plant in Flins assembles and tests fuel cells using advanced Plug Power technology. By the end of 2022, it will also start assembling hydrogen refueling stations and producing low-carbon hydrogen with a first 1 MW electrolyzer. HYVIA's hydrogen ecosystem is prominent in Germany, France, and the Netherlands, offering hydrogen refueling stations, decarbonized hydrogen production, maintenance solutions, and fleet management.
HYVIA's innovative zero-emission hydrogen LCVs, led by the Renault Master Van H2-TECH, are set to revolutionize the European market. With its comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem and advanced technology, HYVIA is poised to drive sustainable mobility forward.
