Hyundai Kona N Spied Testing at Nurburgring, Imminent Reveal Expected
Hyundai's high-performance Kona N has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring, with new 'Tease' photos from Google Photos hinting at an imminent reveal. The compact SUV's launch date in Germany remains uncertain.
The Kona N, set to join Hyundai's N lineup, was seen undergoing tests in May. Its engine remains a mystery, with possibilities including the 2.0-litre turbo from the i30 N or the new 1.6-litre turbo from the i20 N. Drive options could be front-wheel drive only or four-wheel drive.
Styling-wise, the Kona N will sport a more aggressive nose with a larger grille and bigger air intakes, red accents, twin tail pipes, a diffuser, new alloys, and a double-wing roof spoiler. Hyundai has now shared almost fully revealing 'Tease' photos from Google Photos, suggesting a launch is near.
Initially planned for a summer 2020 reveal, the Kona N's unveiling was delayed, likely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hyundai officially confirmed the model in January 2021, releasing heavily camouflaged photos on the news platform Nypost at the time.
While Hyundai has not provided a specific launch date for the Kona N in Germany, the recent teaser photos from Google Photos suggest a reveal is imminent. The exact engine and drive options remain uncertain, but the Kona N's aggressive styling is clear. Fans eagerly await more details from Hyundai.
