April 2 - NAB Show 2025 Notebook: Essential Booths Worth Visiting

At booth N439, Sony Electronics will unveil captivating innovations, insights, workflows, and expertise devoted to four strategic areas: live production solutions, news and production workflows, imaging solutions, and virtual production. Sony's ecosystem of devices fosters interconnections and promotes creativity while streamlining processes for individual creators and enterprise productions.

Notable additions revolve around a Super35mm camera system with Variable Neutral Density (VND), an ultra-compact Full-frame camera extension system, and a camera tracking solution enhancing content creation.

These enhancements and technologies accommodate the latest industry demands and capabilities, empowering broadcasters, cinematographers, production teams, and content creators to express their vision more flexibly and efficiently.

For instance, the debut of the HDC-F55000V Super 35mm 4K CMOS camera system with live production capabilities will be exhibited. Featuring a global shutter imager, PL lens mount, and a new optional software license adding VND capabilities for improved depth of field control and a wide range of brightness control, this camera ensures superior performance for the demands of today's live productions [1].

Audinate Bridges the Audio-Visual Gap

As the future of media production draws closer regarding the integration of broadcast and AV technologies, Audinate is set to demonstrate how the Dante platform contributes to the advancement of audio and video with broadcast-grade standards and performance.

This initiative embraces the increasing accessibility of broadcast technology in the AV markets, recognizing the growing significance of video production across corporate, higher education, and houses of worship sectors.

At booth N127, visitors will explore the freshest advancements driving broadcasters to embrace the future of IP-based production, cloud workflows, and remote events.

ENCO Showcases AI-Driven Voice Fingerprinting Solution

In booth W1743, ENCO will demonstrate a novel AI-powered voice fingerprinting technique for its enCaption systems. This technology alerts and identifies each speaker in real-time based on unique vocal characteristics, fostering a new dimension in the captioning and translation workflow through a single-stream audio mix.

For the fourth consecutive year, ENCO will support the live stage captioning of panels and lectures on five stages across two exhibit halls. In addition, they will unveil real-time translations to mobile devices via the enTranslate Mobile platform at the NAB Main Stage in the West Hall, facilitating translations to Spanish, French, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, and German for spectators through posted QR codes at the entrance [5][6].

ENCO's Speaker Identification introduces yet another innovation to the captioning systems, labeling speaker identities automatically in real-time based on profiles added to the system for each presenter [5].

Christie Displays Virtual Production Future

Christie will debut its Virtual Projection solution at JB&A's Pre-NAB Technology Event on April 4-5 at The Horseshoe in Las Vegas.

With Virtual Projection, users can create a virtual production environment quicker and more economically compared to bulky LED volumes. The technology, which includes Christie RGB pure laser and hybrid RGB pure laser and laser phosphor projectors, coupled with a Mirage Pro license and Pandoras Box Server, offers adaptable and scalable virtual production for a superior image fidelity.

This cost-effective solution empowers creators in broadcast, film, and live events with a flexible production method, enabling creative freedom and budget balance to the production process [3].

Miri Technologies and the X510 Bonding Router

Miri Technologies is preparing for its maiden NAB Show appearance in Las Vegas, hosting its own booth in a unique setting—NAB's "Premiere Park" area. During the event, the network technology startup will demonstrate its X510 bonding network router, which guarantees resilient, high-performance internet connectivity suitable for live streaming, newsgathering, remote production, and more.

This solution combines multiple wired and wireless (4G, 5G, Starlink, and Wi-Fi) data connections into a single, bonded link that remains resilient against internet outages while ensuring exceptional performance in remote locations with poor network coverage [2].
