GMSV S1 LM: A Modern Homage to the McLaren F1
The Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) has unveiled the S1 LM, a limited-edition supercar that pays tribute to the iconic McLaren F1. This new creation channels the spirit of the legendary F1 GTR race car and the F1 LM road car, while incorporating modern enhancements.

At the heart of the GMSV S1 LM is a bespoke naturally aspirated 4.3-liter V12 engine, an enlarged version of the 4.0-liter engine from the GMA T.50. Tuned by Cosworth, this powerhouse produces more than 690 horsepower, revving up to an impressive 12,100 rpm. The engine features lighter internals and a higher compression ratio for improved power, torque, and responsiveness.
The S1 LM employs a 6-speed manual gearbox, delivering power exclusively to the rear wheels. The casing is based on the T.50's, with internal modifications allowing "short rifle-bolt throws" for smoother, more precise shifting.
Weighing in at under 2,100 pounds (approximately 1,200 kg), the GMSV S1 LM is a testament to Gordon Murray's philosophy of lightweight engineering. The body is made entirely of carbon fiber, ensuring a raw driving experience.
The S1 LM's suspension and handling have been fine-tuned for track performance and driving precision. A unique, lower suspension setup with new geometry and dampers, combined with a custom aero package featuring a front splitter, rear diffuser, and large rear wing, work together to create significant downforce and stability.
