Deutsche Bank Appoints Essence as Lead Media Agency

Deutsche Bank has announced that Essence will take over as its lead media agency, effective from January 1, 2022. The decision follows a thorough review process that involved the interbank committee, the bank's procurement department, and consultancy IMEDIAG.

The media duties will be carried out nationally and internationally, encompassing Deutsche Bank's portfolio of brands and products. Essence was selected for its focus on using data to prioritize the customer's perspective and for its ability to deliver innovative, data-driven marketing strategies.

Tim Alexander, the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Experience Officer of Deutsche Bank, described Essence as an "ideal partner" for the bank. "We are excited to work with Essence to further anchor our two-brand strategy with Deutsche Bank and Postbank in the German market," he said.

The change from previous media agency WPP to Essence is significant, marking a shift towards a more data-driven approach to marketing for Deutsche Bank. However, specific details about the innovative strategies that Essence will implement for Deutsche Bank in 2022 are not currently available.
