Furniture startup Tylko secures $26 million in funding

In an exciting development for the digital-first furniture startup Tylko, the company has successfully secured €22 million (approximately $26 million) in a Series C funding round. The funding round was led by Pitango Ventures and Finnish Evli Growth Partners, with an additional €11 million raised, bringing Tylko's total funding to €33 million.

With this significant investment, Tylko aims to accelerate its growth and further develop its innovative furniture technology tools. Co-founder and co-CEO Mikołaj Molenda emphasised the importance of investing in the best people in the industry to achieve the company's mission.

One of the key areas Tylko plans to focus on is streamlining delivery, packaging, and logistics processes. The startup also intends to create new sustainable and long-lasting materials, and launch into new product categories. To achieve these goals, Tylko plans to improve its use of augmented reality, space recognition, and other tech tools.

Tylko's augmented reality app allows customers to visualise products in their space before making a purchase, providing a seamless shopping experience. This feature is not unique to Tylko, as other retail giants like Wayfair, Target, Ikea, and Amazon have also introduced AR tools to assist customers in visualising furniture in their homes. Notably, IKEA offers the IKEA Place app, which allows users to point their smartphones and see virtual furniture placed realistically in their room.

Since its founding in 2015, Tylko has served almost 60,000 customers. The company also plans to grow its network of collaborators, though details about potential collaborators have not been disclosed.

In the competitive furniture market, Tylko's impressive sales spike of 132% last year underscores its success. However, the current paragraph does not provide new information about sales for the current year. Regardless, the future looks bright for Tylko as it continues to push the boundaries of furniture technology and shopping experiences.

  1. To push the boundaries of furniture technology even further and improve their shopping experiences, Tylko intends to enhance the use of augmented reality, space recognition, and other tech tools, following the successful Series C funding round.
  2. With the aim of streamlining delivery, packaging, and logistics processes, Tylko also plans to create new sustainable and long-lasting materials, expand into new product categories, and collaborate with unnamed partners, as highlighted by the company's recent funding.
  3. Moreover, Tylko is joining the ranks of retail giants such as Wayfair, Target, Ikea, and Amazon by introducing an augmented reality app that allows customers to visualize products in their space before making a purchase, contributing to a seamless shopping experience.
  4. As the pandemic continues and the shift towards digital and remote work remains prevalent, the funding will also enable Tylko to focus on the labor demands that arise from this change in the business landscape, potentially impacting their AI and finance operations.
