Funding of $92.5 million secured by Dronamics for the propulsion of cargo drone delivery services

Dronamics, a pioneering startup, has made history as the first and only licensed cargo drone airline in Europe. With a mission to revolutionise cargo logistics, Dronamics is bridging the gap between trucks and airfreight, offering a scalable, mid-range drone delivery solution that aligns with the increasing global demand for flexible, cost-effective freight solutions.

The flagship aircraft of Dronamics, the Black Swan, is a purpose-built, long-range cargo drone capable of carrying 350 kg (770 lbs) over 2,500 km (1,550 miles). Powered by a single piston engine optimised for fuel efficiency and long-range performance, the Black Swan operates on conventional runways as short as 400 meters, making it suitable for small regional airports.

The airframe of the Black Swan uses lightweight composite materials, balancing durability with operational efficiency. Dronamics integrates experienced commercial aviation pilots to operate the Black Swan from ground control stations in real time, while automated mission planning supports operations. The system always maintains a human-in-the-loop safety standard.

Dronamics has raised approximately $92.5 million USD in total funding, including equity and grants. Notable recent funding rounds include a €29.8 million (roughly $31 million USD) round in June 2025, which is part of this total. The company is using this funding to build a network of regional drone ports and remote operations centers, as well as to deploy modular droneports in underdeveloped or remote regions, reducing the need for large infrastructure investments.

In collaboration with logistics giants such as DHL and Hellmann Worldwide, and airports across Europe, Dronamics' strategic positioning gives it a competitive edge in supply chains. The company completed its full-scale first flight in May 2023 and plans its inaugural commercial operations later in 2025.

With regulatory approvals in December 2022, Dronamics is poised to launch the world's first cargo drone airline and scale operations across Europe. By providing a flexible, cost-effective freight solution, Dronamics is set to transform the cargo logistics industry.

  1. Leveraging technology, Dronamics is integrating automated mission planning and operating the Black Swan with experienced commercial aviation pilots, aiming to revolutionize finance by offering a scalable, cost-effective freight solution for investing in cargo logistics.
  2. In alignment with the increasing global demand for flexible, cost-effective freight solutions, Dronamics, the pioneering cargo drone airline, is implementing automation to streamline its operations, aiming to transform the finance landscape of investing in technology for cargo logistics.
