Ferrari Unveils 'E-Vortex' Testing Facility Near Fiorano Track
Ferrari has unveiled its latest testing facility, 'E-Vortex', located near its iconic Fiorano track. The state-of-the-art site was swiftly constructed in under four months and spans approximately 37,000 square meters.
The new test area, officially opened on June 12, 2023, boasts around 1,000 square meters of covered workshop space. Its tracks are notably wide, up to 14 meters, allowing for diverse testing scenarios.
'E-Vortex' features a challenging circuit with a steep curve and elevation change, along with two long straights - 1,887 meters and 600 meters. A handling course and sections with varied road surfaces further enhance its versatility.
Ferrari aims to shift much of its speed test work from public roads to this shielded site. This move aims to avoid unexpected encounters and better protect the secrecy around new models. The company seeks to conduct dynamic and comfort tests under controlled and reproducible conditions at the new test area.
The new Ferrari test track, 'E-Vortex', is set to revolutionize the company's speed test processes. With its wide tracks, diverse circuits, and covered workshop space, it promises controlled and reproducible testing conditions. Ferrari expects this new facility to significantly enhance its product development and secrecy.
