Female Founders Compete in Hamburg for Investment Opportunities

On September 15, 2022, the Female StartAperitivo competition, part of the Female Founders Program, will take place in Hamburg. This event aims to bridge the gap in financing networks for women founders, as highlighted by the Female Founders Monitor 2020. Eight women-led teams from four northern German states will compete, with two startups, Tœrn and 5pectre Optix, advancing from the Hamburg qualifying round.

The competition, organized by Hamburg's Female Founders Program, seeks to improve women founders' access to investors and financing. While the final will feature workshops and masterclasses with free tickets, additional measures like an investors' dinner are planned to facilitate networking. Although the specific investors attending the final are yet to be confirmed, the event provides a platform for founders to meet potential funders and expand their financing knowledge.

Among the participating startups is Tœrn, founded by Eva Aumüller, which focuses on reducing returns in online shopping by redirecting returned items to other customers. Another notable participant is 5pectre Optix, founded by Dr. Ekaterina Zapolnova, which develops the smallest and most affordable broadband spectrometer for various applications.

The Female StartAperitivo competition, set for September 15, 2022, offers women founders a unique opportunity to connect with investors and enhance their financing knowledge. With workshops, masterclasses, and networking events, the competition addresses the financing gap faced by women entrepreneurs, as identified by the Female Founders Monitor 2020.
