**New Tamron 16-30mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens Debuts in the UK and Ireland**
The photography world is abuzz with the arrival of the Tamron 16-30mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 lens, a high-performance wide-angle zoom lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras. This innovative lens is initially available in Sony E-mount and Nikon Z-mount systems, with a release in other regions to follow.
This versatile lens offers an ultra-wide to wide-angle zoom range of 16-30mm, making it ideal for landscapes, architecture, astrophotography, and creative close-ups. The constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range ensures excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field control.
The Tamron 16-30mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 boasts updated optical design with 16 elements in 12 groups, delivering high resolution and beautiful bokeh. It also features an expanded maximum diagonal field of view of 107°, capturing more expansive scenes.
Tamron's VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor powers the autofocus system, providing fast, quiet, and precise focusing. The lens also offers a minimum focus distance of 7.5 inches (0.19m) at the wide end, enabling creative close-up shots.
Weighing around 440-450g (0.97-1.59 lbs), the compact and lightweight lens features improved ergonomic focus and zoom rings for smoother operation. The lens is weather-sealed with a moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element for protection against oil and water.
The Tamron 16-30mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 will be available in the UK and Ireland first, with the Sony E-mount version launching on 31 July and the Nikon Z-mount version following on 22 August. The price remains £849.
