Expanded Retail Sportsbooks in Mexico due to IGT-Caliente Agreement
International Game Technology (IGT) has entered into a significant multi-year technology and services partnership with Corporación Caliente, one of Latin America's largest sportsbook operators. This partnership will see the deployment of IGT PlaySports technology and services across various Latin American countries.
The agreement will initially launch PlaySports technology across 42 Caliente-branded retail sportsbooks in Mexico, with a phased rollout to approximately 100 additional IGT PlaySports-powered venues in Antigua, Argentina, Aruba, Brazil, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
Caliente CEO Eduardo Hernández Triana expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that it is an exciting milestone in the rollout of Caliente's new retail sports betting offering. The partnership aims to "level-up" Caliente’s sports betting offering by leveraging IGT's platform versatility and reliability to enhance player entertainment across nine countries in Latin America.
The IGT partnership positions IGT as one of the top legal sports betting platforms, not just in the Americas, but globally. The deal aims to aid in competitive positioning across Latin America, supporting global market entry. This expansion will offer immediate access to one of the largest sports betting populations in South America.
It is important to note that operators are to comply with local betting laws. The partnership will not include any advertisements in the content provided by Legal Sports Betting, a site that provides independent sports betting news and content funded by commissions received from partners through links on their site.
With Peru and Chile moving to legalize sports betting, this deal could serve as an additional liaison for company expansion. The new partnership will support Latin American gaming markets in establishing modern, reliable, and regulated sportsbooks, enhancing mobile retail sports betting across Latin America.
In conclusion, the IGT PlaySports and Caliente partnership represents a strategic move to establish a significant retail sportsbook presence in Mexico and across Latin America by rolling out technologically advanced sportsbooks that serve multiple markets through a multi-year service agreement.
