Samsung Expands One UI 8 Beta Program to More Devices
Samsung has announced an expansion of its One UI 8 beta program, making the latest software update available to a wider range of devices. Beyond the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, the One UI 8 beta program is now also open to the Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra), Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A54.
These devices will join the beta program starting in September 2025 in select countries such as Korea, the US, the UK, and India. This wider eligibility extends the One UI 8 beta beyond just the flagship S and Fold/Flip series to include mid-range Galaxy A series models, allowing more users to test features like improved AI, multitasking, and UI refinements before the official release.
One UI 8 offers more natural interactions, such as voice or long-pressing the earbuds to trigger Google's Gemini. It also brings multimodal capabilities that understand context in real-time. Users can utilise the Google Assistant for daily life questions and on-the-go research.
To receive the beta update on a Samsung Galaxy phone, one needs to register for the beta program via the Samsung Members app. The One UI 8 beta will also be available for the Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A35 5G.
In addition, Samsung has released One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 7. The One UI 8 Watch will expand to more Galaxy Watch models beyond the new Galaxy Watch 8 series later this year. However, Samsung has not yet confirmed specific details such as watch models and the schedule for the One UI 8 Watch release.
One UI 8 is currently in beta for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The One UI 8 beta release schedule includes devices to receive the update in August, with more devices becoming eligible in September. The stable update is expected to roll out soon after the beta testing phase.
