European payment solution provider CCV introduces "Cloud Connect": an advanced integration for seamless payment processing at charging stations.

CCV Group B.V., a Dutch payment solutions provider with over 65 years of experience in the digital payment industry, has announced the introduction of a new solution aimed at simplifying and speeding up payment integration at electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The solution, named "Cloud Connect for EV charging," is set to address challenges in existing integration methods and provide a quick and cost-efficient solution for the EV charging industry.

Founded in the Netherlands in 1958, CCV has grown to employ over 1000 people across three countries. The company has a broad expertise in traditional retail and emerging sectors such as electric vehicle charging, parking, vending machines, and public transport. CCV offers end-to-end payments at various touchpoints, including online, in-store, and unattended solutions.

The Cloud-Connect for EV charging solution simplifies the integration of the payment terminal and the charging station using the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol, a standardized protocol developed by the EV Roaming Foundation. This integration with the Charge Point Management System (CPMS) works in alignment with regulatory demands such as the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which will come into effect on April 13th.

For Charge Point Manufacturers (CPMs), the solution enables simpler and faster installation, quicker commercialization, and reduced costs associated with integrating a payment solution. CPMs can focus more on the charge point itself and simplify the integration process with Cloud-Connect for EV charging.

Charge Point Operators (CPOs) also benefit from this solution. They only need to choose a compatible CPMS and activate/link the terminal to one or more charge points. Drivers can benefit from a variety of payment methods including credit/debit cards and mobile applications. CCV supports multiple disburse schemes such as girocard, Mastercard, Visa, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

The solution aligns with the market expectations of end-users, offering a variety of payment methods and addressing the challenges in existing integration methods. With Cloud-Connect for EV charging, CCV aims to make EV charging more accessible and convenient for drivers, while also benefiting multiple stakeholders in the eMobility ecosystem.
