Electrical company constructs charging station along the route connecting Aschaffenburg and Würzburg
EnBW, a leading energy company in Germany, has announced the opening of a new fast-charging park at the Marktheidenfeld service area on the A3 motorway. The charging station, located between Aschaffenburg and Würzburg, is part of EnBW's nationwide expansion of its fast-charging network.
The Marktheidenfeld fast-charging park is equipped with 16 HPC charging points, each with a capacity of up to 400 kilowatts. This means that a 15-minute charge can add up to 400 kilometers of range for electric vehicles. The site is future-proof, with the potential to expand to 24 charging points.
EnBW's Chief Technology Officer, Volker Rimpler, has stated that the goal is to enhance comfort and flexibility for customers by creating seamless charging experiences. To this end, the Marktheidenfeld fast-charging park is also partially powered by a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 18.55 kWp. This system will not only generate power for the charging stations but also provide weather protection for vehicles and drivers.
The Marktheidenfeld fast-charging park is strategically located on a crucial route between Aschaffenburg and Würzburg. In addition, the site boasts over 1,100 square meters of green space, landscaped with trees, making it an attractive pit stop for electric vehicle drivers.
EnBW's commitment to the expansion of its fast-charging infrastructure is evident. The company currently has over 7,000 fast-charging points in Germany and aims to nearly triple this number to over 20,000 points by 2030. This week, EnBW has issued a green hybrid bond with a total volume of 500 million euros to finance the continued expansion of fast-charging stations, solar parks, and wind farms.
The Marktheidenfeld fast-charging park is not alone in this expansion. EnBW is also constructing similar charging parks in Osnabrück, Bremerhaven, Krefeld, and Saxon Thiendorf. These projects are all part of EnBW's mission to make electric mobility more convenient and accessible for customers across Germany.
The Markheidenfeld fast-charging park, equipped with renewable energy through a solar system, serves as a vital stepping stone in the integration of environmental-science and technology within the realm of transportation. This charging station, along with the upcoming projects in Osnabrück, Bremerhaven, Krefeld, and Saxon Thiendorf, signifies EnBW's commitment to enhancing science and technology for a more sustainable future, particularly in the field of environmental-science.
