Egyptian company Intella secures $12.5 million in Series A funding to expand its Arabic speech technology offerings.
Intella, a pioneering company in Arabic dialect speech intelligence, has announced the successful completion of a $12.5 million Series A funding round. This round was led by Prosus Ventures, with participation from 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab.
The funding will accelerate Intella's mission to power a digital AI workforce across the Arabic-speaking world. Founded in 2021 by Nour AlTaher and Omar Mansour, Intella's technology enables businesses to deliver localised, human-like conversations at scale.
Intella's proprietary speech-to-text models have achieved a global record accuracy of 95.73 per cent, applicable to more than 25 dialects. This achievement moves businesses beyond generic AI, providing foundational technology for enterprises to analyze customer conversations and build next-generation customer experiences.
The funds raised will be used to accelerate Intella's mission to build AI models and tools tailored to Arabic dialects, deepen its enterprise capabilities, and accelerate MENA expansion. The company's models provide a suite of solutions, including a dialectal ASR engine and a conversational AI agent named Ziila.
intella's technology enables businesses to unlock data-driven insights to improve customer satisfaction, ensure quality control, and increase operational efficiency. With the new funding, Intella is doubling down on R&D, product expansion, and regional hiring.
AlTaher, the CEO of Intella, stated that the funding from Prosus allows them to accelerate their goal of helping every enterprise in the region transform their customer conversations. The funding comes from Prosus, a powerhouse investor with deep operational expertise.
Intella closed a $3.4 million pre-Series A funding round in October 2023. This new funding round marks a significant milestone in Intella's journey to bridge the gap between global AI advancements and the Arabic-speaking world. The new funding will help Intella transform customer conversations from dark data into a strategic asset.
