Durabook Launches ATEX-Certified Rugged Tablets for Hazardous Environments

Durabook, a brand of Twinhead International Corporation, has introduced two rugged, ATEX-certified tablets designed for use in hazardous environments. The R8-EX and U11I-EX tablets cater to the digitalization needs of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, where skilled worker shortages and future competitiveness are key concerns.

The R8-EX tablet is compact and lightweight, making it ideal for confined spaces and field work. It offers a long battery life, ensuring uninterrupted use. The U11I-EX, on the other hand, provides more computing power and connectivity options, serving as a full-fledged work device.

Both tablets feature hot-swappable batteries and extensive interfaces, enabling seamless integration into existing systems. They are designed to operate in ATEX Zone 2/22 environments, with no risk of ignition sources or electrical discharges. The tablets comply with MIL-STD-810H and are IP66 certified, ensuring reliable function at extreme temperatures. DynaVue® technology ensures optimal screen readability in various lighting conditions, while Durabook's Coolfinity thermal solution provides passive cooling, reducing the risk of explosion in hazardous areas.

Durabook's R8-EX and U11I-EX tablets are set to expand production and field operations in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Their rugged design, ATEX certification, and robust features make them suitable for potentially explosive environments, addressing the digitalization needs of these industries.
