Omega Seiki Mobility Sets Up $25 Million EV Assembly Plant in Dubai

Omega Seiki Mobility, an Indian automotive manufacturer, is expanding its operations by setting up a new electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Dubai. The plant, spanning over 42,000 square feet, is expected to commence assembly by the end of 2025 [2].

The production line at the JAFZA facility will focus on assembling Omega Seiki Mobility's range of electric two- and three-wheelers. Notable models include the OSM Rage+, a three-wheeler cargo carrier offering a range of up to 270 km and featuring fast charging and battery swapping capabilities [3][5], and the OSM Stream, a three-wheeler passenger vehicle with a range of up to 270 km, equipped with IoT technology for real-time tracking and fleet optimization [1][3][5].

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, expressed his excitement about the move, stating that Jafza offers unmatched connectivity to over 2 billion consumers and a business environment that enables speed, scale, and sustainability [2]. The company aims to supply or add new export markets within the wider Middle East and Africa through its production in JAFZA [2].

In India, Omega Seiki Mobility has already established a significant presence with over 160 dealerships and sales of more than 20,000 vehicles [6]. The Dubai plant will mark the company's first overseas EV assembly plant. Omega Seiki Mobility also plans to expand its overall production capacity to more than 20,000 units in the near term [6].

The new plant is designed to meet the rising demand for low-emission transport in the region. In addition to its electric models, Omega Seiki Mobility plans to introduce CNG-powered versions for select African markets as a transitional clean fuel option until EV infrastructure expands [1][3]. The company aims to make clean mobility commercially viable for partners through its operations in Dubai.

Omega Seiki Mobility's move into the Middle East and Africa marks a significant step in the company's growth. With its focus on electric and CNG-powered vehicles, the company is well-positioned to contribute to the global transition towards cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
