The deal, advised by the global law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher, expands Siemens' digital industries software business and targets a total addressable market for industrial software by an impressive USD 11 billion.
Dotmatics, renowned for its Life Sciences R&D software, will play a strategic role in Siemens' broader aim to accelerate digital and AI-driven transformations across industries. The acquisition has seen Dotmatics integrated into Siemens' Digital Industries Software business, enhancing Siemens' portfolio and capabilities in life sciences research and development software solutions.
Siemens' CEO, Roland Busch, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that it will bring life-saving pharmaceuticals faster and more affordably to the market. He also highlighted that the acquisition will help customers accelerate breakthroughs and reduce development cycles. Furthermore, the acquisition is expected to create a unique, end-to-end digital thread in Life Sciences.
The acquisition aligns with Siemens' strategic growth programme, 'ONE Tech Company', which aims to build a comprehensive industrial AI and digital ecosystem. This move is part of Siemens' ambitions to lead in industrial AI by combining deep domain expertise with advanced software solutions.
The Willkie Farr & Gallagher team, which advised Dotmatics, was led by corporate and financial services partners Matthew Guercio, Ziyad Aziz, and Tai Fukumoto. The team included associates Megan Goss, Andrea Tam, and Matthew Killip. Latham & Watkins LLP advised Siemens on the acquisition.

The company is set to generate more than USD 300 million in revenue by the end of this fiscal year, with an adjusted EBITDA margin above 40 percent.
