DoorDash Completes $4B Deliveroo Acquisition, Expanding Global Reach to 45 Markets
DoorDash has finalized its acquisition of Deliveroo for nearly $4 billion. The deal, approved by both companies' boards and a British court, sees the U.S.-based giant expand its global reach.
DoorDash, the largest U.S. food delivery platform, has made its second major international acquisition in three years. The company, which recently expanded its services to restaurant reservations and robot deliveries, will now operate in 45 markets worldwide, including 30 in Europe.
The acquisition will help DoorDash grow its business in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Deliveroo, which serves 7 million monthly active users, operates in nine countries, with the U.K. and Ireland accounting for 59% of its business. DoorDash's interest in Deliveroo was first reported in April 2025.
With the acquisition, DoorDash aims to strengthen its position in the global food delivery market. The company, which already serves 42 million users, will now have access to Deliveroo's established customer base and operations in key markets. The deal is expected to close in the coming months, subject to regulatory approvals.
