Does the Google Pixel 10 offer Qi2 wireless magnetic charging?

Google's much-anticipated Pixel 10 series is set to make a splash with its support for Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, according to several leaks and reports. The series is expected to feature built-in magnets, a departure from relying solely on magnetic cases, making for a more convenient and reliable charging experience.

The Pixel 10 models are rumoured to be thicker and heavier, a change attributed to the integration of Qi2 magnets internally for magnetic charging. This development aligns with the trend towards Qi2 25W faster charging, which is poised to offer a more efficient and user-friendly charging experience.

In an effort to further enhance this feature, Google is reportedly developing a line of first-party magnetic Qi2 accessories called "Pixelsnap". These accessories, which include a magnetic charger, ring stand, and charger with stand, aim to leverage the magnetic Qi2 standard to provide a MagSafe-like wireless charging experience for the Pixel 10 lineup.

The Wireless Power Consortium, the organisation responsible for the Qi standard, has confirmed that major Android smartphones will support Qi2 25W (also known as Qi2.2.1). Google has also played a significant role in the development of this specification, which adds 25W wireless charging support.

As Google is committed to the Qi2 wireless charging standard, the Pixel 10 series will offer native Qi2 magnetic wireless charging with Google’s own Qi2 magnetic accessories designed specifically for it. The Made by Google event scheduled for Aug. 20 is where Google is likely to announce the Pixel 10 series, shedding more light on these exciting developments.

Stay tuned for more updates on Google's Pixel 10 series and its innovative Qi2 magnetic wireless charging technology.
