Kazakhstan, a BRICS partner country since January 1, is set to expand its international economic cooperation and strengthen ties with dynamically developing countries. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu will represent Kazakhstan at the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6-7, where the focus will be on multilateralism, financial relations, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The summit, structured over two days, will kick off with presentations by partner countries on strengthening multilateralism, financial relations, and AI on the first day. The second day will be dedicated to discussions on environmental protection, preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference in Brazil, and global health. Kazakhstan's visit will also include a roundtable with representatives of leading Brazilian companies and the signing of several bilateral agreements to enhance trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
In addition to the BRICS Summit, Minister Nurtleu will pay a working visit to Afghanistan on July 10-11. While the exact focus or agenda of this visit is not yet detailed, given Kazakhstan's active engagement in regional issues and international cooperation highlighted at the BRICS summit, it can be reasonably inferred that the visit may involve diplomatic and regional security dialogue, economic cooperation, or aid-related discussions.
