Dapr Graduates from CNCF with Robust Security and Modular Components
Dapr, a portable, event-driven runtime for cloud and edge applications, has seen significant growth and integration. Now managed by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Dapr offers robust security and modular components, graduating from the CNCF and gaining wide acceptance.
Dapr integrates with various projects, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, SPIFFE, gRPC, and Cloud Events. It consists of multiple building blocks like state management, Pub/Sub, security, and observability, making it easy to implement.
Dapr 1.16 introduced federated identity support using SPIFFE and a multi-app workflow feature. It provides an abstraction for infrastructure, allowing developers to focus on creating applications using the actor model. Its simple and user-friendly APIs are particularly beneficial in Kubernetes environments.
Dapr's integration capabilities, robust security, and user-friendly APIs have led to its graduation from the CNCF. With its modular components and support for best practices, Dapr continues to gain acceptance among developers and operations communities.
