Acko, a digital-first insurance platform founded in 2016 by Varun Dua and Ruchi Deepak, has announced a strategic investment from cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This partnership is more than just a brand collaboration, according to Varun Dua, as it represents a meeting of mindsets.

Dhoni, known for his values of customer-first thinking, simplicity, and bold innovation, mirrors the values that have shaped Acko's journey. The cricketer expressed his excitement about supporting a brand focused on trust and transformation, embodying Acko's ethos.

Acko operates on a zero-commission, zero-paperwork model, offering direct-to-consumer (D2C) insurance services in auto, health, travel, and group health insurance. The company emphasizes on instant claim settlements and user-friendly digital interfaces, making insurance simpler, more relatable, and truly loved by the people.

In October 2021, Acko secured $255 million in a funding round led by General Atlantic, which currently holds a 10.7% stake. The main investor in Dhoni's investment in Acko is Amazon. With this strategic investment, Acko has raised over $458 million in funding.

Dhoni's endorsement is expected to boost Acko's brand visibility and trust quotient. According to Varun Dua, Dhoni represents Acko's values of customer-first thinking, simplicity, and bold innovation, making him the perfect ambassador for the brand.

For the financial year ending March 2024, Acko reported a revenue of Rs 2,106 crore, up nearly 20% from Rs 1,758 crore in FY23. With Dhoni on board, Acko aims to continue its growth trajectory, making insurance more accessible and enjoyable for millions of customers across India.

Together, Acko and Dhoni are set to revolutionize the insurance industry, making it simpler, more relatable, and truly loved by the people.
