MyGov Malaysia: A Unified Digital Platform for Government Services
Malaysia is set to launch its own "super app" called MyGov, a single digital platform that consolidates 34 government services under one roof. The app, developed by the Malaysian government, is part of building the nation's digital infrastructure and is described as an "app by the people for the people."
The Beta version of MyGov was launched on August 23, 2025, and is currently available on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery. The app supports iOS 18 and Android 8 and above.
MyGov integrates key services such as road tax renewals, OKU (disability) card applications, health records from MySejahtera (including clinic appointments), traffic summons checks, and access to key digital documents like MyKad, driving license, and passport. Some services, such as passport renewal via immigration and online payments for summonses, are still under development.
The app also features an AI chatbot to assist users, though this was temporarily disabled shortly after launch due to performance issues. The user interface and home page are reportedly reminiscent of e-wallet apps, aiming for a familiar experience for Malaysians.
The development of MyGov began in April 2024 and is being done under a task force with agencies gradually pooling their services under one platform. The long-term goal is to integrate the MyGov app with existing government apps such as MySejahtera or My JPJ.
Regarding data privacy and security, these are top priorities for the Digital Ministry. The Beta phase will continue throughout the latter half of 2025 to fine-tune the app based on feedback. The ministry will hold citizen lab sessions to gather public feedback and make necessary improvements.
The full roll-out of the MyGov app is hoped for by December 12, 2025, which coincides with the second anniversary of the establishment of the National Digital Department. The launch will be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In the future, MyGov is expected to add more services such as MyKad replacement applications, driving licence and motor vehicle licence renewals, traffic summons payments, passport renewals, and compound payments. The app will also be made available in languages other than Bahasa Malaysia, including English, Mandarin, and Tamil.
MyGov is an ambitious project that aims to become the central hub for all government digital services in Malaysia. It is a significant step towards building Malaysia's digital infrastructure and providing a seamless, user-friendly experience for citizens in accessing government services.
