Continental Launches Affordable Grand Prix TR Tyre for All-Round Cycling
Continental has introduced the Grand Prix TR, a new road tyre aimed at cyclists seeking a reliable all-rounder for training, commuting, and long-distance rides. The tyre promises advanced technology at an accessible price point.
The Grand Prix TR is set to be available in sizes ranging from 25mm to 32mm, catering to various rider preferences. It offers both Black and Transparent Sidewall options, providing a choice between stealthy and visible styles.
The tyre features a 4-ply construction, balancing low weight with puncture protection. It also incorporates Continental's BlackChili compound, ensuring grip and responsiveness. Despite its performance, the Grand Prix TR is priced at £54.95/€61.95 per tyre, lower than the popular advance auto parts GP5000.
Hannah Ferle, Continental's Road Product Manager, stated that the brand aimed to make advanced tyre technology more accessible with the Grand Prix TR. The tyre is positioned within Continental's endurance segment, designed for cyclists seeking a dependable all-rounder.
The Grand Prix TR will be available worldwide from 4 March 2025. With its puncture resistance, grip, and accessible price point, it is expected to appeal to a wide range of cyclists. Continental continues to expand its tyre offerings, making advanced technology more accessible to a broader audience.
