Contest Number 38 is currently underway in the Nintendo World Championships for the NES version

This exciting event offers an opportunity for speedrunners to test their skills across various Nintendo games, showcasing their abilities to the world. The competition is set to run from now until 4th of July at 1:59 a.m. PT.
The games included in the competition are not in their entirety, but rather feature challenging moments from 13 classic NES games. You'll find yourself tackling objectives such as finishing a level as fast as possible or scoring the highest points in games like Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Excitebike, Donkey Kong, and Kirby's Adventure.
The competition consists of five challenges in both World Championships and Survival modes, including Hammer Bro KO (Super Mario Bros. 3), Sub-Space Exploration (Super Mario Bros. 2), Heating Up (Excitebike), Jumping Jacks (Donkey Kong), and Monochrome Hero (Kirby's Adventure).
Players can compete against each other online, with the top runs for each challenge being available for viewing, offering an opportunity to learn and improve your own times. Replays of the top runs from last week's competition can also be found within the game.
To participate, you'll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account. Please note that membership auto-renews after the initial term unless canceled.
