Comprehensive Guide to Powercats: Overview of Dracan

Dracan, a Polish company specializing in the production of outboard-powered, cabin-equipped powercats, is set to expand its fleet with the addition of new models. The upcoming additions include a new entry-level, outboard-powered Dracan 36 and a flagship 52-footer, which is currently under development.

The Dracan 42, the company's debut model, has already made a significant impact in the powercat market. It has received nominations for Multihull of the Year and European Powerboat of the Year, showcasing its quality and innovation.

The Dracan 42 is a versatile powercat, offering three lower deck layout options: Supreme, Voyage, and Holiday. The Supreme layout provides a long ensuite VIP cabin in each of the two hulls, ideal for those seeking luxury and privacy. The Voyage layout uses a long cabin in one hull and a pair of doubles split by a bathroom in the other, catering to families or groups. The Holiday arrangement boosts cruising capacity with a pair of cabins and a bathroom in each hull.

The Dracan 42 features a powercat design with Mercury V10 400hp outboards hidden beneath raised sunpads. The cockpit offers a big galley, dedicated bar, and options-rich T-Top, making it perfect for entertaining. The cockpit extends day spaces well aft of the transom, creating a lovely unbroken swim platform spanning the entire 16ft beam. The raised sunbeds morph into L-shaped dinettes, split by a central walkway.

The Dracan 42 Gran Coupe is set to have a fully enclosed saloon and a new interior layout. However, details regarding the new boats are currently provisional.

Model Art, a shipyard known for its collaboration with some of Europe's most prestigious powerboat brands, has been chosen for the construction of Dracan's boats. Model Art boasts three factories in Poland, over 25,000 square meters of production space, and a workforce of 1,000 employees.

Dracan's designs are led by Robert Błazejak, Poland's most experienced catamaran designer. With the addition of these new models, Dracan is poised to make a significant impact in the powercat market, offering a range of options to suit various needs and preferences.

As of now, the Dracan fleet only includes the Dracan 42. However, with the launch of the Dracan 36 and the 52-footer, the fleet is set to grow, providing more choices for powercat enthusiasts.
