In a significant move to bolster AI-driven security, Okta and Palo Alto Networks have expanded their partnership. This collaboration aims to provide a comprehensive view of an organization's security posture and secure authentication, while automating threat response workflows for faster and more precise mitigation of attacks.

The new integrations mark a significant step forward in the joint efforts to combat increasingly sophisticated attacks, particularly AI-driven credential attacks. By combining Okta's identity management capabilities with Palo Alto's advanced security operations tools, the partnership aims to reduce siloed security tools, improve context-aware access controls, and streamline automated threat mitigation.

One of the key integrations involves Okta Workforce Identity natively integrating with Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma Access Browser. This partnership enables a conditional access method that restricts single sign-on (SSO) app access only through a secure browser, thereby improving secure application access by ensuring it happens in a controlled environment.

Another integral part of the partnership is the integration of Okta's Identity Threat Protection, powered by Okta AI, with Palo Alto's AI-driven Cortex SecOps platform. This integration extends to Cortex XSIAM and Cortex XDR, equipping organizations with a unified, AI-powered view of identity-related risks across their full attack surface.

These integrations offer several benefits to users. They provide a secure, consistent, and speedy browsing experience. The combined capabilities tackle threats through automated responses such as revoking user access, ending active sessions, and quarantining of endpoints. The new integrations empower organizations with comprehensive, AI-driven defense.

Pamela Cyr, Palo Alto Networks' VP of technical partnerships, commented that the deep integrations make it easier for customers to achieve higher levels of security and user experience. The partnership introduces two new integrations that aim to provide a clear, integrated path for secure operations.

The new integrations also aim to help organizations incorporate identity into their infrastructure as part of a "fight AI with AI" approach. By doing so, they provide enhanced visibility and control over SaaS and web application use for security teams. They also offer additional authentication for risky access and user activity, reducing costs and complexity.

In essence, the new integrations offer a unified security architecture that leverages AI to detect and respond to identity-based threats more effectively and automate threat response workflows for faster and more precise mitigation of attacks targeting user credentials and application access. The expanded partnership between Okta and Palo Alto Networks is set to benefit nearly 2,000 joint customers with enhanced security posture and user experience.
