Check Point to Boost AI Security with Lakera Acquisition and Zurich Center
Check Point, a leading cybersecurity company, has announced plans to establish a new Global Centre of Excellence for AI Security in Zurich. This move comes following an acquisition of Lakera, a social security AI-native security company, set to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The acquisition will see Check Point integrate Lakera's robust AI security solutions into its existing portfolio. Lakera's offerings include Lakera Red and Lakera Guard, which provide AI model and agent protection through posture assessments and real-time enforcement.
Check Point's current solutions, such as GenAI Protect, SaaS and API security, and machine learning-driven defences, will be bolstered by Lakera's capabilities. The combined strengths aim to deliver full AI lifecycle protection for enterprises.
Lakera's platform boasts high detection rates, low latency, and minimal false positives, supporting over 100 languages and serving Fortune 500 companies. Upon acquisition, Lakera will serve as the foundation for Check Point's new Global Centre of Excellence, driving advancements in enterprise AI security standards.
The acquisition, expected to close in late 2025, will strengthen Check Point's position in AI security. By combining Lakera's expertise with its own, Check Point aims to better protect enterprises from increasing AI-related risks, such as data exposure and model manipulation.
