"Canadian Tesla owners can now earn referral rewards for referring friends to purchase the Model 3 or Cybertruck"
Tesla Expands Referral Program to Include Model 3 and Cybertruck in Canada
Tesla has made a significant update to its referral program in Canada, adding the Model 3 and the Cybertruck to the list of eligible vehicles. This marks the first time the Cybertruck has been included in the referral program in Canada.
Before this update, Canadian buyers could only get a referral discount on the Model S, Model X, and Model Y. The Model 3, however, was absent from the program since its removal about a month after Tesla revamped their referral program in late August last year.
With the addition of the Model 3, Canadian buyers can now enjoy a discount of $650 on their purchase. The Cybertruck, on the other hand, benefits from a discount of $1,300. It's worth noting that these discounts are applicable to both new orders and purchases from existing inventory.
The referral links also work on the Cybertruck, just as they do on the Model 3. This means that for every referral that leads to a purchase, the buyer receives three months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) for free.
Interestingly, the iZEV rebate of $5,000 is no longer available for the Model 3. This could be a strategic move by Tesla to offset the price increases experienced by the Model 3. The Rear-Wheel Drive variant now costs $4,000 more, while the Long Range AWD and Performance variants have seen price increases of $8,000 and $9,000 respectively.
The update to the Tesla referral program in Canada was made on Monday night, and the Cybertruck was added to the program for the first time in early 2023. The referral program was previously not available for the Cybertruck in Canada.
This expansion of the referral program is a welcome move for Tesla enthusiasts in Canada, offering them the opportunity to save on their purchases while also enjoying the benefits of Tesla's advanced technology.
