Bybit and Tether collaborate strategically to speed up cryptocurrency adoption within Brazilian markets
In a significant move to promote cryptocurrency adoption across Brazil, Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has partnered with Tether, the issuer of USD₮, the most widely used stablecoin. The strategic partnership, announced on July 25, 2025, aims to accelerate crypto adoption through various initiatives.
The collaboration includes co-sponsorship of Blockchain Rio, a major blockchain conference in Latin America. New users who register on Bybit's platform during Blockchain Rio will receive an exclusive USD₮ bonus to encourage engagement with digital assets. Bybit and Tether are also in discussions with Visit Rio to integrate cryptocurrency into the city's tourism sector. The goal is to offer discounts and USD₮ bonuses to tourists who use digital assets for services, tours, and purchases from local businesses. This aims to position Rio as a crypto-friendly destination.
Bybit has significantly expanded its local presence and launched tailored offerings such as Bybit Pay and the Bybit Card. Israel Buzaym, appointed as Bybit's Country Manager for Brazil earlier this year, is leading this expansion. Under his leadership, Bybit is tailoring its offerings to bridge traditional finance and digital assets in Brazil.
A nationwide educational program is also part of the strategic partnership. This program features “Learn to Earn” campaigns that reward users for completing blockchain technology courses. In-person workshops, university gatherings, and seminars target students, developers, and entrepreneurs to improve crypto literacy and drive responsible adoption.
This strategic partnership combines institutional collaborations, educational outreach, tourism incentives, and local market expansion to drive broader and responsible adoption of cryptocurrency in Brazil.
