Brompton's C-Line Explore Crowned Best Folding Bike, Classic Model Gets Gear Boost

Brompton, the renowned British folding bike manufacturer, has recently made waves with several significant developments. Its C-Line Explore model has been crowned the best overall folding bike, while the original C-Line has received a colourful update and a gear boost. Meanwhile, the company's plans for eco-friendly headquarters in Ashford, Kent, have finally been approved.

The C-Line Explore has impressed our testers, earning it the title of best overall folding bike. This comes as Brompton celebrates its 50th birthday by introducing a 12-speed version of its classic C-Line. The new model features the 'Advance Rear Frame', enhancing maneuverability when half-folded. To mark the occasion, Brompton has also introduced three new colours: 'flamingo pink', 'amethyst lacquer', and 'Turkish green'.

Despite these exciting developments, Brompton's profit margin fell significantly to £4,602 before tax in the year up to April 2024. CEO Will Butler-Adams attributed this to missed sales budgets and fixed costs. However, the company remains committed to its sustainability goals, having become a certified B Corp in 2024.

Brompton's C-Line continues to impress, with the Explore model taking the top spot and the classic C-Line receiving a colourful and gear-enhanced update. With plans for eco-friendly headquarters in Ashford, Kent, approved, Brompton looks forward to a greener future, despite recent financial setbacks.
