BYD Shark 6: Pakistan's First Plug-in Hybrid Pickup Redefines Performance and Technology

The BYD Shark 6, a rugged plug-in hybrid pickup, has made its debut in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in the country's new energy vehicle (NEV) market. Lei Jian, Country Head of BYD Pakistan, expressed gratitude to customers for making BYD the No. 1 New Energy Vehicle brand in the country.

The BYD Shark 6 is designed to cater to both adventure seekers and lifestyle buyers who value performance, utility, and efficiency. It boasts a combined driving range of 800 km, including a full-electric range of 100 km (NEDC), and accelerates at 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds, making it the fastest PHEV in Pakistan.

The vehicle's rugged Cell-to-Chassis battery integration offers added protection on rough terrain, while multiple terrain modes, including Mud, Snow, and Sand, ensure a smooth ride even in challenging conditions. The BYD Shark 6 also features a robust suspension system for a stable ride.

Under the hood, the BYD Shark 6 is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine and dual electric motors, delivering a combined power of 436 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The vehicle is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with a towing capacity of 2,500 kg and a tub load capacity of 1,200 liters.

Safety is paramount in the BYD Shark 6, with a comprehensive airbag system, advanced driver assistance systems, and a host of convenience features. The vehicle comes equipped with a 15.6" LCD screen, a 360° camera system, multiple parking sensors, advanced braking systems, ISOFIX child safety anchors, mechanical child safety locks, Head-Up Display, and Intelligent Speed Limit Recognition and Control systems.

The establishment of a charging station every 200 kms on Lahore-Islamabad Motorway by Hubco Green aims to address the charging infrastructure needs of NEV owners in Pakistan. Hubco Green has partnered with leading OMCs to establish a robust network of charging infrastructure across Pakistan, aiming to install a charging station every 200 kms on Lahore-Islamabad Motorway by the end of next year.
