BMW's New Electric SUV Coming in 2027
BMW is cooking up something new. The company is developing a compact electric SUV under the code name NB5, set to hit the newsstands in spring 2027. This vehicle will be part of BMW's Neue Klasse technology, but details are scarce at the moment.
BMW has been making strides in the electric vehicle market. In early September 2025, the company unveiled the iX3, the first model of the Neue Klasse family. The iX3 is scheduled to be available in spring 2026, paving the way for more electric vehicles in the Neue Klasse series.
The new X1, under development with the internal code NB5, will follow the iX3. It's expected to be a compact electric SUV, joining the growing list of electric vehicles from BMW.
