Binance Lists Towns' TREE Token: A Step Towards Decentralised Communication
In a significant move for the decentralised communication sector, Towns Protocol's native token, TREE (Towns), is now available for trading on Binance. The listing took place on July 29, 2025, at 14:00 UTC, marking a major milestone for the project.
Towns Protocol, an EVM-compatible Layer 2 chain, offers users the ability to create and manage programmable communication spaces known as "Spaces." These spaces feature end-to-end encrypted messaging, on-chain memberships, and customizable access controls.
The TREE token is part of the Towns Protocol ecosystem, built on the Base network and utilising decentralised off-chain stream nodes and smart contracts. The total supply of TREE tokens is 1 billion, with a max supply of 15.33 billion and a circulating supply of 2.11 billion (20.83% of the total supply) as of the listing date.
The Binance Spot Market offers several trading pairs for TREE at launch, including USDT (Tether), USDC (USD Coin), FDUSD (First Digital USD), BNB (Binance Coin), and TRY (Turkish Lira). The listing was part of Binance's HODLer Airdrop program, with promotions and trading challenges related to TREE occurring shortly after the listing date.
The Towns Protocol project is aimed at decentralised data management and environmental governance. The limited initial market release of TREE is expected to cause some price volatility in the early hours of trading.
Notable investors in Towns Protocol's Series B funding round, which raised $10 million in April 2025, include a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, and Benchmark. With the TREE token now live on Binance, the project continues to gain momentum in its mission to revolutionise communication and data management.
