Barn fire in Wallenhorst/Hollage attributed to photovoltaic system malfunction, resulting in flue gas release
A fire broke out at a farm in Moorlandstraße on Wednesday afternoon, but thanks to the swift response of the fire brigade, emergency services, and police, the situation was quickly brought under control.
The fire started in a switchbox of a photovoltaic system in a barn. Fortunately, no building damage was caused by the fire. A 46-year-old man suffered minor injuries from smoke, but he was treated on the spot by the emergency services.
When the emergency services arrived at the scene, they found that the flames had already gone out in the switchbox. The fire brigade extinguished the remaining smoke with a CO extinguisher.
