Audi's FAW division initiates pre-sales of Q6L electric vehicle models, integrating Huawei's advanced driver assistance technology.
Audi Q6L e-tron and Sportback: Premium Electric SUVs with Smart Driving Technology
The Audi Q6L e-tron and Sportback e-tron, two new electric SUVs from Audi, have been introduced in China. FAW Audi began pre-sales of these models on July 26, with the official launch scheduled for August.
The Q6L e-tron and Sportback e-tron offer advanced technology, competitive range, and performance. The Q6L e-tron features a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery, rear-wheel drive with 310 kW (422 hp) power, and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. It is available in single-motor (255 kW) rear-axle or dual-motor all-wheel drive versions, with combined outputs reaching around 456 hp on the Sportback model.
The Q6 Sportback e-tron offers an EPA estimated range up to 319 miles (standard wheels) and delivers 456 hp with a 0–60 mph time of 4.9 seconds. The higher-performance SQ6 Sportback e-tron raises power to 509 hp and a 0–60 mph time to 4.1 seconds, with a slightly reduced range of 283 miles. Both use a 94.4 kWh usable battery capable of 270 kW fast charging that replenishes 10–80% in about 21 minutes.
These models feature standard all-wheel drive with front asynchronous and rear synchronous motors and use rear-biased torque distribution for performance. The Q6L has a spacious, smart cabin with a digital dashboard and touchscreen interfaces.
The Q6L e-tron and Sportback e-tron incorporate Huawei’s Qiankun smart driving technology, which supports advanced driver-assist features and enhances autonomous driving capabilities. This integration is a key part of the collaboration between Audi and Huawei for enhanced smart driving solutions in the Q6L models.
The prices for the Audi Q6L e-tron family range from RMB 353,000 to RMB 403,000. The pre-sales cover two models: Audi Q6L e-tron and Audi Q6L Sportback e-tron. The production of the Audi-FAW EV venture's plant has started, but no further information about the partnership between Audi and FAW Group was provided.
With these features, the Audi Q6L e-tron and Sportback e-tron are positioned as premium, high-tech electric SUVs with strong performance and smart driving integration for the evolving EV SUV market, specifically targeting Chinese customers with potential for other markets later.
