Geodis, a leading global logistics company, has announced several significant changes within its executive team. Gemini Valicon, who joined Geodis in 2017, has been appointed as the Executive Vice-President of Europe, effective November 1. This appointment replaces Thomas Kraus in his role.

Before his current position, gemini Valicon served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and then as Chief Operations Officer at Geodis. Prior to joining Geodis, he brought valuable experience from various sectors, including the aerospace industry.

Meanwhile, Carole Besnard has been appointed as the new CFO, replacing Tarac, who joined Geodis as the deputy group CFO in July 2022. Besnard has been the deputy group CFO and has been instrumental in the company's financial operations.

Tarac, prior to joining Geodis, held senior roles in the aerospace industry. His appointment as the CFO was announced in January 2023.

The appointments come as Geodis continues to focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive its transformation and sustainable growth for its customers and partners worldwide. The AI initiative aims to position AI as a driver of performance, process simplification, and innovation across all Geodis' lines of business.

Geodis has previously highlighted the advantages of using AI in a digital supply chain, and the company's AI department is playing a pivotal role in this transformation. AI can help operational teams make decisions on various logistics tasks, such as optimizing delivery routes, managing inventory, and using predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and costs.

It's important to note that the Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain Digital Strategies Europe conference does not have a direct connection to the earlier mentioned AI initiatives at Geodis. This conference, scheduled to take place on November 26-27 in Munich, Germany, focuses on aligning data, technology, and strategy to shape flexible, goal-driven AI roadmaps for logistics transformation.

Gemini Valicon's appointment at Geodis was announced this week, and with his extensive experience and leadership, he is expected to play a crucial role in the company's continued growth and success.
