Apple's Vision Pro 2: Next-Gen Smart Glasses with Enhanced AI and Speech Interactions
Apple is set to unveil its next-generation smart glasses, the Apple Vision Pro, with enhanced AI and speech interactions. Meanwhile, Meta is pushing ahead with its smart glasses, having launched the Ray-Ban Display in 2025.
The Apple Vision Pro is expected to feature a new version of Siri, enabling users to interact with their glasses using voice commands. The device will also house a special chip, built-in speakers for music playback, and a camera for various functionalities.
Meta, Apple's rival, has already introduced the Ray-Ban Display, which offers a small heads-up display (HUD) for one eye. However, a dual-display model for both lenses remains unconfirmed. In response, Apple is reportedly developing its own smart glasses with a display.
Apple's plans for smart glasses include two variants: the N50, due in 2027 without a display, and a screened version initially planned for 2028 but expected earlier. The company has shelved the Vision Air project, codenamed N100, to focus on other priorities.
The Apple Vision Pro is expected to build on Apple's smart glasses technology, with improved AI and speech interactions. Meanwhile, Meta's smart glasses continue to evolve, and Apple's plans for its own display-equipped glasses remain uncertain. The Vision Air project has been paused, with no immediate replacement planned.
