Apple's Mumbai-based store, dubbed BKC, is due to welcome customers on Tuesday.
Apple Opens First Indian Retail Store in Mumbai
On April 18, 2023, Apple is set to open the doors of its first retail store in India, located in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. This strategic move positions Apple to target a vibrant, affluent, and tech-savvy customer base in one of India's key metropolitan markets.
The store, named Apple BKC, is situated in the financial, arts, and entertainment district of the city. It boasts a unique triangular handcrafted timber ceiling and stone walls sourced from Rajasthan, creating an elegant and distinctive atmosphere.
Apple BKC will offer the latest iPhone, Mac, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple TV lineups, and accessories like AirTag. The store is also operationally carbon neutral, running on 100 percent renewable energy, making it one of the company's most sustainable stores.
Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's senior vice president of Retail, expressed her excitement about the store's opening and its reflection of Mumbai's vibrant culture. She stated, "We're thrilled to open Apple BKC and bring our products and services to this dynamic city. We look forward to serving our customers and contributing to the local community.
