AMD's new Radeon RX 7700 Graphics Card has a lower performance than the RX 7700 XT but features memory similar to the RX-7800 XT.

The technology landscape is abuzz with the latest announcement from AMD – the AMD Radeon RX 7700 Desktop Graphics Card. This new addition to the Radeon family is expected to make its debut, initially in pre-built systems (OEM), with a potential release in the DIY market at a later date. However, AMD has yet to specify an exact retail launch date or price for the Radeon RX 7700.

The Radeon RX 7700 is a more scaled-down version of the Radeon RX 7800 XT, offering similar performance. It comes equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, operating at a speed of 19.5 Gbps. Interestingly, the power consumption of the Radeon RX 7700 is identical to the Radeon RX 7800 XT, leading some to speculate that it may be using heavily defective or inferior dies.

In terms of architecture, the Radeon RX 7700 utilises Navi 32 with four active Memory Core Dies (MCD), each featuring a 64-bit interface. This results in a 256-bit interface overall. Compared to its XT counterpart, the central Graphic Core Die (GCD) in the Radeon RX 7700 has been reduced in terms of active units, and it has fewer active shader units.

Despite these differences, the Radeon RX 7700 boasts a memory bandwidth identical to the Radeon RX 7800 XT. This indicates that, despite the scaled-down nature, the Radeon RX 7700 is still capable of delivering impressive performance.

The Radeon RX 7700 is designed for demanding gaming and streaming at 1440p, making it an attractive option for gamers seeking a good rx within the 1440p resolution range.
