Alien Planet Survival Game by Green Hell Developers Introduces Firestorms and Massive Spiders
StarRupture, an upcoming first-person, open-world base-building survival game, is set to launch into early access this year. Developed by the creators of Green Hell, this unique title offers a blend of survival, strategy, shooter, factory-building, and economic management elements in a captivating sci-fi setting.
The game is planned for release on Steam, allowing players to embark on an exciting journey to the hostile planet Arcadia-7. On this alien world, the surface is periodically licked clean by firestorms, and the inhabitants include meter-long arachnids that pose a constant threat.
In StarRupture, players take on the role of a prisoner sent to Arcadia-7 to work off their debt. Their mission involves exploring the planet, extracting minerals, building automated industrial bases, and defending against the aggressive alien creatures. The game combines elements of a horde defense survival-craft-shooter with base building similar to Satisfactory.
During the Early Access phase, players can expect a cooperative multiplayer experience focused on resource gathering, base construction, and combat against alien threats. The game features large-scale production chains and base management systems, allowing players to choose settling locations, perform tutorial missions, and then freely explore the changing planet. There are challenges like overheating equipment and balancing power production for your bases.
The singleplayer playtest offers access to these core gameplay loops. Players can explore a stunning alien landscape, decide where to build their base, mine resources, set up automated manufacturing chains, upgrade their base, unlock new technologies and parts by leveling up, defend themselves from hostile alien fauna using advanced combat mechanics, manage complex power, cooling, and production systems, and experience an evolving world with abandoned buildings and meteorite resources scattered around.
The singleplayer mode emphasises survival, base-building, and uncovering the depths of the planetary environment at your own pace, providing an engaging mix of exploration, crafting, and combat before the full launch. It's important to note that the singleplayer playtest ends on August 4th.
The finished version of StarRupture will support four player co-op, allowing players to collaborate on base construction, resource gathering, and combat against the alien horde. The demo of StarRupture allows players to gain levels, unlock weapons, and upgrades, including a boosted double jump. A tutorial is also included to help players set up an automated base, ship off-world resources, and avoid death by bugs.
Scouting new areas in StarRupture reveals remnants of previous expeditions, adding to the game's immersive story. Jon Bolding, a games writer and critic with expertise in strategy games, shares a passion for tabletop games outside of PC gaming.
